February 2010:

On Tuesday, March 23rd I’ll be speaking to the John Adams Young Composers Program at the Crowden School in Berkeley. This will include presenting my stuff and workshopping some student scores. 


February 2010:

I’ll be Composer in Residence at the Mondavi Center at UC Davis from 1/8-16, 2011. This will include a premiere of a new short work for piano, as well as judging a young artists competition, some outreach, and some masterclasses.

Can you read Dutch? Apparently THIS review of Banksy (at its Gaudeamus performance) is pretty good. I get the title, at least: “Twelve Guitars and Vibraphone Create Unique Groove.” Sweet!

March 2009:

Second annual Switchboard Music Festival another success; receives awesome reviews in major Bay Area publications, including the San Francisco Chronicle. See them HERE, and HERE.


February 2009:

Banksy accepted in Gaudeamus Festival in Amsterdam. Performance to take place September 7-13. Ryan one of 15 composers chosen from around the world, and one of 3 chosen from the U.S.  


December 2008:

Ryan Brown commissioned to compose opening track to debut album by janus on New Amsterdam Records.


October 2008:

Ryan Brown chosen as fellow in the Brooklyn Philharmonic’s Composer Mentorship Program. This will include a chamber performance in their Music Off the Walls series, and an orchestra reading session in October 2009.


July 2008:

Our Friend Adam to be released in the next SCI (Society of Composers) Journal


April 2008:

Ryan Brown wins 2008 ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composer Award


March 2008:

First Switchboard Music Festival a huge success with over 300 attendees, 11 acts, and over 8 hours of non-stop, genre-bending music!
